Oreo Pie

This dessert is a fan favorite. I mean who doesn't love Oreos or pie? The best part about this pie is that it is almost like ice cream pie because it is not hot. Most of the ingredients for this dessert you will have in your kitchen, making this a reasonably priced recipe. If you are looking for a good place to shop with well-priced food check out some of my other blogs to find out good grocery stores to shop at! For this recipe you will, more then likely, only need to buy the Oreos and Cool Whip from the store! I hope you enjoy this pie! Commit below on what other kind of pies you like!

Ingredients:

  • OREO Cookies, divided: 36 Oreo's, one pack
  • Butter or margarine, melted: 1/4 cup
  • Vanilla instant pudding mix: 2 packages
  • Cold milk: 1-1/2 cups
  • COOL WHIP Whipped Topping, thawed: 1 8 oz. can

Step 1 (crust):

Put 24 of the oreos in a closed bag and smash with a wooden spoon. Next pour the cookies into a bowl and mix with melted butter. Then use your hand to press into the bottom of a pie pan.
* If you don't have pie pan that is okay

Step 2:
Crush the rest of the oreos in another closed bag.

Step 3:

With a whisk, mix the pudding and milk in a large bowl for about two minutes. Then stir in cookies and Cool Whip.

Step 4:

 Refrigerate for 4 hours

Spinach Artichoke Dip

This recipe is great to have because it applies to an older generation. So if you are having adults over or a business meeting it is great to have as a dip. When I was a child I hated this dip, but as I grew up I fell in love with it. Even if you not a big fan of spinach or artichoke I would suggest trying it because it is so good. Also, there is a lot of cheese in it so it helps tone down the spinach and artichoke. It tastes delicious and is easy to make.

Ingredients:

Chopped frozen spinach: 1 cup thawed
Chopped frozen artichoke hearts: 11/2 cups thawed
Cream cheese: 6 ounces
Sour cream: 1/4 cup
Mayonnaise: 1/4 cup
Grated Parmesan:1/3 cup
Red pepper flakes: 1/2 teaspoon
Salt: 1/4 teaspoon
Garlic powder: 1/4 teaspoon

Step 1:

Boil the spinach and artichokes  in one cup of water. Once they are tender drain the water.

Step 2:

In a large microwavable safe bowl add the cream cheese and microwave until melted.

Step 3:

In the same large bowl, add sour cream, mayonnaise, grated Parmesan, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes, stir together. Then add the spinach and artichokes, stir together.

Serve with pita chips, crackers, or any chip of your choice.

Life is an adventure, you never know how your day is going to go. I hope you enjoy!

Monster Cookies

These are my all time favorite cookies! They are so fun to make and they taste even better! When I was child my best friend's family always made these cookies and when they did it was the best thing ever! They are great for family parties or just to make for your own. They only take about 5 minutes to make and then 12 to cook so they are super fast! Also, the ingredients are mostly things that you already have in your kitchen! Making this a good recipe for someone who is on a budget!

Ingredients:

  • light brown sugar: 1 cup, packed
  • granulated white sugar: 1 cup
  • (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened: 1/2 cup
  • eggs: 3 large
  • vanilla extract: 1 tablespoon
  • quick cooking oats: 4 1/2 cups
  • baking soda: 2 teaspoons
  • semi-sweet chocolate chips: 1 cup
  • M&M's plain chocolate candies: 1 cup

Step 1:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees and then spray cookie sheet with nonstick spray.

Step 2:

In a large blender put all the sugar peanut butter and butter and then blind. After it is mixed, add eggs, vanilla, backing soda and oats.

Step 3:

Put the M&M's in the same large bowl and mix by hand.

Step 4:

Place the dough on the cooking sheet. You want to make the cookies big because they are monsters. Then cook for only 10 to 12 minutes because you do not want to over cook because they taste a little better doughy.

Life is an adventure, you never know how your day is going to go. I hope you enjoy!

Party Potatoes

This delicious recipe is a great side dish for a meal. I like to call it Party Potatoes but a lot of people call it funeral potatoes or something else. You can call it what ever makes you happy! This recipe is fast and easy to make, but is still a perfect comfort food. All the ingredients are cheap and the corn flake box can be used for multiple batches or for different dishes. Frozen hash browns: 1 bag
Sour Cream: 16 oz.
Cream of Chicken Soup: 1 can
Cheddar Cheese: 1 bag

Post #11: Mac and Cheese with Cheetos

                             Mac and Cheese with Cheetos

Mac and Cheese with Cheetos, I know this sounds gross but before you start judging just take a moment and try it. This recipe is cheap and super easy to make. It does not take a lot of work to make and tastes delicious! I make this recipe all the time when I have a group of people to feed. Most people love mac and cheese and the Cheetos just add a little twist. The best part of this recipe, I got all my ingredients from Aldis! Aldis is a reasonably priced grocery store that is perfect for college students or for anyone who is looking to save a little money on food.

Ingredients:

Milk: one quart
Macaroni: 4 cups
Chedder cheese: 2 lb
Cheetos: 1 bag
Water
olive oil

Step One (the cheese sauce):

On medium heat bring the milk to a simmer. Then slowly add cubes of the cheese in and stir. You want your cheese to be a nice and smooth.

Step Two (the noodles):

In a large pot boil water and pour the macaroni into the pot. Add a little bit of the olive oil to help with the noodles not stick. Once the noodles are done cooking drain and put back into the pot.
*Do not over cook because you cook it in the oven later. Its better to under cook a little.

Step Three:

Add the cheese sauce into the pot with the noodles and stir together.
*do not add too much cheese because you do not want it to be soupy.

Step Four:

Pour the mac and cheese in a 9 by 13 pan. Put Cheetos in a bag and smash into crumbles. Then sprinkle those crumbles evenly over the top of the mac and cheese.

Step Five:

Cook at 400 degrees until about golden brown. Let it rest for about 5 minutes before you eat.
*once you serve I like to mix in Cheetos to give it an extra crunch.
